[edit] Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia!

We hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset.

If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library.

Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page.

[edit] purgatory?

Do you have any interest in editing the purgatory page? It's recently been overhauled to promote the Catholic POV. Jonathan Tweet 20:05, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

My advice would be to cite sources, be ready to see your additions deleted, and work the talk page. Jonathan Tweet 18:46, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding the Trinity article.

Miguel de Servet,

I don't mean to seem contentious with my edits. I hate arguments, and I am only editing the article for what I believe to be a good reason. I'm eager to hear your opinion about my reasoning. Thank you for your concern for the article's quality. --C.Logan 17:33, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jesus Seminar

You added "fact" tags to the "apocalyptic Jesus" paragraph. The reference in the paragraph should address the need for references. Doesn't it? Jonathan Tweet 17:16, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WP Christianity

Hi, I saw your name on the WikiProject Christianity Membership page.

I've made some changes to the WP Christianity main project page, added several sup-project pages, created a few task forces section, and proposed several more possible changes so that we can really start making some serious progress on the project. Please stop by and see my comments on the project talk page here and consider joining a task force or helping out with improving and contributing to our sub-projects. Thanks for your time! [edit] Links

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Jacques Derrida. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Thank you. -- Rbellin|Talk 14:33, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

In case you didn't notice, that recipe site is one of Wikipedia:Mirrors and forks, not an independent source. -- Rbellin|Talk 14:36, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply, and since it was an honest mistake, I'm sorry about using the spam template in place of typing a real message. I'm sure those lines wouldn't be that hard to find supporting citations for, but no one has made that a priority -- and removing them would likely cause some dissatisfaction among people who want to see more anti-Derrida POV represented in the article. -- Rbellin|Talk 18:00, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] You are violating WP:BLP at Sam Brownback

Your edits on there are violating WP:BLP, which is serious and will get you blocked. The blog you cite to specifically states it has no affiliation to Brownback. If you continue to put the material in, you will end up blocked. Reverting violations of WP:BLP are outside the realm of the WP:3RR rule, so I will continue to revert you if you continue to restore the information. Blogs are not reliable sources, especially blogs unaffiliated with the person in question. There are numerous policies this violates. This is your first warning. --David Shankbone 21:02, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

I agree with User:David Shankbone. The source you are citing does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for reliable sources; if you want to demonstrate that this is true and important, you'll need to cite a newspaper or magazine article. That should be easy to find; if Brownback has really publicly stated that the Earth does not orbit the Sun, then it will have been reported on by many, many more reliable sources. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:41, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
