Hello Miguel, welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Drop us a note at Wikipedia:New user log so we can meet you and help you get started. If you need editing help, visit Wikipedia:How to edit a page. For format questions, visit our manual of style. If you have any other questions about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Village pump.

Please note that we already had an article on the Flag of Portugal at that page. We will now have to merge Flag of portugal with Flag of Portugal and redirect them.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:ArmasjoaoII.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:ArmasjoaoII.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 02:26, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] See also portuguese newspaper about their pretender

Hi, also one of the most famous newspaper in Portugal "Destak" [1] of today 14 July 2006, in the page 5, tells about the portuguese succesion and mentioned dom Rosario Poidimani as pretender and Dom Duarte Pio as an illegitimate pretender for his exclusion from the last monarchic Constitution. This affirmation was an affirmation of the president of the P.P.M. The only Moanrchic Party in Portugal. So please again reinsert Rosario Poidimani as a true pretender,Maria Pia as true pretender and Duarte Pio opposition in his page. Please reply Manuel de Sousa, 14 July 2006 (UTC)82.54.244.85 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log)

  • 1) "Destak" is hardly a famous newspaper in Portugal. It is barely known outside of Lisbon, in spite of the claims presented on its website. You cannot even acquire it outisde of Lisbon and Oporto.
  • 2) "Destak" is hardly an authority on monarchical constitutionalism.
  • 3) The antagonism present between D. Duarte Pio and the PPM is widely known. What the PPM says is irrelevant, even more considering that Portugal is a republic with no prespectives of restoring its monarchy.
  • 4) Mr Poidimani claims have already been debunked by several historians and investigators. Only those who do not want to see the truth - or have something to gain from this case (which is the case of Destak - a hidden scandal is probable to bring more notoriety to the paper) still believe that Poidimani has any right to succeed in the throne.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Joseprinceofbrazil.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Joseprinceofbrazil.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:Afonsoviportugal.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Afonsoviportugal.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Sdrtirs (talk) 22:40, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:JoaoVIportugal.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:JoaoVIportugal.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:25, 10 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 13:25, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
