[edit] By way of introduction
I am a Spanish mathematical physicist based in England, where I work in finance. I obtained my Ph.D. from the University of California at Riverside on 2004 December 11.
My wikipediholic score was 61 as of 22:10, 2004 Feb 25 (UTC)
[edit] Thoughts on wikipedia
Wikipedia is successful because everyone loves to read themselves write.
Contributing to any article of political significance is a sure source of wikistress. I have seen myself gradually drifting away from political/religious/cultural articles, then away from current affairs, and then even away from theoretical physics articles. When even an inocuous topic such as Normal distribution can lead to acrimonious discussions on talk pages, I am just about ready to give up on Wikipedia.
After the March 11, 2004 Madrid attacks I realized staying away from the clamor of the boetians just wasn't going to work, but that one must pick one's battles wisely.
