I grew up in Buffalo, and live in Richmond, VA now. Good lord do I miss my Mighty.

[edit] Mighty Run

Would it be relevent to add this? or is it just an East Aurora term? A Mighty Run is essentially when a group of people on the spur of the moment decide to drive half an hour away to the nearest Mighty Taco, regardless of the weather or time of day. -I do not believe so. There is nothing to distinguish a Mighty Run from a Taco Bell Run other than the restaurant of choice. However, I do recall something about a Buffalo tradition to eat at every Mighty Taco in existance in one day. If that could be documented, it would be good.

-Liquidmetalspiderman

-Boush's opinion!- "Mighty Run" is commonly used by everyone in the greater Buffalo area. Nobody says "Taco Bell run." Ever.

[edit] Mighty taco is the best ever.

MMM, just downed two Burrito De-Lites with sour cream and medium sauce. Mighty Taco is Buffalo's crown jewel.

I envy you.24.7.141.45 19:12, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hardly a Crown Jewel

Just moved from San Diego and was recommended to try Mighty Taco.

It was easily the worst attempt at fast-food Mexican-style food. The cheese, the Tostitos, the sauces... all of it. Horrible.

What surprised us most was that the place was BUSY.

If I had the capital, I'd open a baja-style Mexican restaurant and show Buffalo some REAL Mexican food. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zion007 (talkcontribs) 12:55, 5 December 2006 (UTC).

"It was easily the worst attempt at fast-food Mexican-style food."

Your opinion is wrong. Boush 05:12, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

An Opinion is neither right nor wrong. An opinion is a Belief not a Fact. Jons63 01:45, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Facts don't exist. But Mighty Taco does, and it is the best mexican fast food ever, and "Baja" is not real mexican food, Mighty Taco is closer to food you will get in Mexico any day. I have lived in Buffalo, live in California, and have visited Mexico.24.7.141.45 19:14, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Normally, Jons63, I'd agree with you, but in this case, saying Mighty Taco is bad is incorrect. Opinions can only be wrong if they're insulting Mighty Taco. Boush —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.156.101.71 (talk) 05:12, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Mighty Taco is not real Mexican food. I grew up in Bflo and loved it, but it doesn't even approach what you get in a real taqueria in CA or TX, etc. But that having been said, it's not SUPPOSED to. It's a different category. Sort of like Subway subs are NOT what you get at Bob & John's La Hacienda or Casa Di Pizza. Different category. Mighty Taco is in the "fast food Mexican" category - an in THAT category, it reigns supreme. The proper comparison is Mighty Taco versus Taco Bell. In that competition, Mighty Taco kills Taco Hell dead. Speaking of Bob and Johns, what the hell did they do? Their pizza was the best in the city in the 1970s. Subs also. Had some a couple years ago and now they suck. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.243.147.149 (talk) 16:07, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] On removal of the locations section.

I'm planning to wipe out the locations section in a moment. This is not intended as a slam on the chain. My thinking:

  • The locations list looks like a copy/paste from MightyTaco.com without due attention to wikification or copyright. There's already a link to the official site.
  • It's a conflict of interest for Mighty Taco employees to modify the Wikipedia entry, yet nobody else would be sufficiently motivated to keep it current.
  • Phone numbers are not usually notable. Pizza Pizza#Marketing techniques is a notable exception.
  • Phone numbers are presented in a way that's only useful to people who know Buffalo's area code, which is mighty presumptuous for an encyclopedia that's supposed to be serving the entire English-speaking world.

Image:Mightytaco.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. [edit] Former Locations

Perhaps its beyond the scope of Wikipedia, but anyone have a list of former locations? There was one at the corner of Elmwood and Forest, back around 1982. Same spot where Plate Ohs was more recently. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.243.147.149 (talk) 16:09, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
