Miguel Martinez is a Dominican-American Democratic politician from the Washington Heights section New York City. Martinez was a fixture with the political club Northern Manhattan Democrats for Change, which he founded and lead with New York State Assembly member Adriano Espaillat.
Martinez represents the 10th Council District of the New York City Council, which includes Washington Heights and the Inwood sections of upper Manhattan.
Martinez has served as Council Member for six years, concurrently assuming Chair of the Fire and Criminal Justice Services Committee.
