Miguel Guante is a Puerto Rican - American soccer midfielder who currently plays for the Portland Timbers in the USL First Division.
Guante attended the University of Portland. He also played for the Boulder Rapids Reserves in the Premier Development League in 2004 and 2005. In January 2006, FC Dallas drafted Guante in the first round (eighth overall) in the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft.[1] Dallas waived him in April 2007 and Miami FC of the USL First Division signed him.[2] In 2008, he moved to the Portland Timbers of the USL First Division.
The Puerto Rican Football association called-up Guante for the Puerto Rican National Football team that will play Honduras in the 2010 World Cup qualifier.
