[edit] Making of the album
Mighty to Save was recorded live at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on 5 March 2006 by Darlene Zschech and the Hillsong team. Over 10,000 people from Hillsong Church gathered to record the album.
[edit] Writing and composition
Songs on Mighty to Save were written over the year before the album recording. Songs like "Higher" were written earlier in 2005, while songs like "The Freedom We Know" were written in the weeks before the album recording. The album also includes songs from the Hillsong United album United We Stand.
The majority of songs were written by Reuben Morgan, Marty Sampson, Joel Houston, Ben Fielding and Darlene Zschech. Award-winning New Zealand singer-songwriter Brooke Fraser, who moved to Hillsong Church after moving to Australia, wrote a song for the album.
"More to See" was written by Darlene Zschech, Mia Fieldes, Deborah Ezzy, Donia Makedonez and Nigel Hendroff after Darlene was inspired to write a song by women who had lived the Christian life and could inspire others.
