Matthew Fowler Kangaroo_Island, South Australia
[edit] Matthew Fowler
Matthew Fowler [1] [2] b.1964 London, England was the Australian Democrats 2007 Australian Parliament Division of Kingston Candidate in South Australia. Kingston had a margin of 0.1%. With the rise of the Greens and Family First to 3rd and 4th parties, each gaining over 4% and thus Australian Electoral Commission funding, the Kingston Australian Democrat Candidate received just over 850 votes or 0.95%. Strategic community development with community communication, cost effective Broadband internet, water and transport access are key areas of concern that were not adequately addressed.
Matthew grew up in Cooks Hill, Newcastle, New South Wales; Croydon, Sydney then finally on a family farm in Wallacia on the Nepean River near the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, New South Wales. Inspired by natural and cultural heritage, Fowler wanted to be an ornithologist from the age of nine. Encouraged by his father to broaden his interests, Fowler sought to become a naturalist like Harry Butler & was enthralled by the BBC David Attenborough "Life on Earth" series presented in 1978 by ABCTV. Schooled at Nepean High School then boarded at Kinross Wolaroi School. Studied at the University of Wollongong with a 1988Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in General Biology & a minor in Physical Geography (before Environmental Science was popular), Matthew worked as the Assistant Manager/ Ranger at Wirrimbirra Wildlife Sanctuary in Bargo, southwest of Sydney. [Wirrimbirra is a National Trust property dedicated by the late Dr Thistle Y Stead AM nee Harris to David G Stead.]
Fowler's progressive viewpoints developed from previously working with Anangu Pitjantjatjara-Yankunytjatjara-Luritja Traditional Owners and Ngaanyatjarra at Uluru and Luritja at Ulpanyali and Watarrka National Park. Subsequently with Warlpiri and Arrernte people at the Institute for Aboriginal Development (IAD) where he was recognised with the 1996 NAIDOC Non Indigenous Person of the Year Award and Alice Springs Desert Park[3].
Previously Fowler won 15% of the 2006 Kangaroo Island Council [4] votes in the Mayoral Election. 4500 votes in the 2000 Alice Springs Town Council[5] Election[6].

The Judkin-Fitzgerald Baronetcy was created for Thomas Judkin-Fitzgerald in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 5 August 1801, for his services in suppressing the Irish Rebellion of 1798 in Tipperary. The title became dormant or extinct upon the death of the 4th Baronet in 1917; no heir has been traced. [1]
[edit] Judkin-Fitzgerald Baronets, of Lisheen (1801)
- Sir Thomas Judkin-Fitzgerald, 1st Baronet (1754–1810) adopted the surname of Judkin in addition to and before that in compliance with the will of his maternal Uncle John Judkin of Cashel, Esq. On 5 Aug 1801 he was made a baronet of the UK. "The Dictionary of National Biography" Vol. X Pulb. since 1917 by Sir Leslie Stephen,Oxford University Press

- Sir Thomas Judkin-Fitzgerald, 3rd Baronet (1820–1864) The Peerage and Baronetage By Edmund Lodge (1861) THE FITZGERALD SUICIDE—EXTRAORDINARY SCENE AT THE BURIAL.
- Sir Joseph Capel Judkin-Fitzgerald, 4th Baronet (1853–1917), ed. Harrow, appears in the list of Property owners County Tipperary circa 1870.
1st heir Capel Gerald Judkin-Fitzgerald, 1872-1898 2nd heir Thomas Judkin-Fitzgerald 5th Baronet 1873 entry incomplete - apparently unproven
The Official Roll states that the 4th Baronet was Sir Joseph Capel Judkin-Fitzgerald, b. 1853, d. 1917, his heir was Capel Gerald Judkin-Fitzgerald, b 1872, d 1898 and the 2nd heir was Thomas Judkin-Fitzgerald, b. 1873. The Roll shows this Thomas as the 5th Baronet, doubtful this having actually been proved as the entry appears incomplete. The entry after Thomas simply says Baronetcy is either extinct or dormant and gives no date of death for Thomas, nor does it say what relationship he was to the 4th Baronet. It should be possible by searching the records of Wills and the registers of Birth, Marriages and Deaths to ascertain what legitimate male issue the 4th Baronet had and to work out from that whether there is in fact still an heir to the title.
With the vast majority of Baronetcy creations the remainder, or the way the title passes from generation to generation is to "heirs male of the body of the first grantee lawfully begotten", which means that it will pass from the 1st Baronet to his eldest surviving son and so forth, down the male line. It is highly unlikely that the remainder for this creation provided for it to pass under any circumstances down the female line. No records whatsoever about the creation of this title, save for the entry on the official Roll of the Baronetage and that doesn't assist in this case. To make certain about the remainder, the National Archives will have a record on the Patent Rolls for 1801. Grant Bavister Asst. Head of the Crown Office Asst. Descended from the unique Desmond Geraldines Uniacke family
[edit] UNIACKE OF MOUNT UNIACKE
UNIACKE, NORMAN-JAMES-BIGGS, Esq. of Mount Uniacke, со. Cork, formerly an officer in the Denbighshire cavalry, m. 10 Sept. 1844, Mary-Elizabeth, 2nd dau. of the late Col. Drinkwater-Bethune, of Balfour, со. Fife, and has issue, I. NORMAN-COMPTON-FITZGERALD e. — This ancient family, whose original name was Fitz-Gerald (descended from the Desmond branch of the great Géraldine family) went to Ireland about the close of the 12th century. The name, a singular one, arose according to tradition from the following circumstance : In the skirmishes which were constantly taking place between the rival houses of Fitz-Gerald and Butler, a service, attended by great danger, becoming necessary to be done, and the commander hesitating whom to employ, an individual was pointed out and recommended to him with this remark, " Unicus est," meaning "He is the only person to undertake this service." These two words were used as the family motto until the period of the battle of the Boyne : in that memorable conflict, James-Fitzgerald Uniacke, of Coolegaragh, since called Mount Uniacke, commanded a troop of cavalry, and being present when King William III's horse was shot, dismounted, and offered his to the King, who, accepting it, called him a faithful and true man, and taking a pistol from his holster said, "Let that be your crest evermore." The family crest previous to this was a dexter armed arm gauntletted, holding a hawk's lure, but James-Fitzgerald Uniacke, and his descendants have since used the motto, "faithful and brave," and taken for crest a dexter arm in armour holding a pistol. It appears by the ancient public records, that the family of Uniacke was settled at an early period in the South of Ireland, and had possessions in the counties of Cork, Waterford, and Tipperary. The following notices of four descents in the 13th and 14th centuries, are extracted from the records in the Birmingham Tower in the Castle of Dublin : Bernard de Uniak, Esq. was resident at Cork, in 1305, as appears by an entry on the plea-roll of that year.

NOEMAH-COMFTON-FlTZOEBALD e. — This ancient family, whose original name was Fitz-Gerald (descended from the Desmond branch of the great Géraldine family) went to Ireland about the close of the 12th century. The name, a singular one, arose according to tradi- dition from the following circumstance : In the skirmishes which were constantly taking place between the rival houses of Fitz-Gerald and Butler, a service, attended by great danger, becoming necessary to be done, and the commander hesitating whom to employ, an individual was pointed out and recommended to him with this remark, " Unicus est," meaning " He is the only person to undertake this service." These two words were used as the family motto until the period of the battle of the Boyne : in that memorable conflict, James-Fitzgerald Uniacke, of Coolegaragh, since called Mount Uniacke, commanded a troop of cavalry, and being present when King WILLIAM'S horse was shot, dismounted, and offered his to the King, who, accepting ¡I. called him a faithful and true man, and taking a pistol from his holster said, " Let that be your crest evermore." The family crest previous to thia was a dexter armed arm gauntletted, holding a hawk's lure, but James-Fitzgerald Uniacke, and his descendants have since used the motto, " faithful and brave," and taken for crest a dexter arm in armour holding a pistol. It appears by the ancient public records, that the family of Uniacke was settled at an early period in the South of Ireland, and had possessions in the counties of Cork, Waterford, and Tipperary. The following notices of four descents in the 13th and 14th centuries, are extracted from the records in the Bermingham Tower in the Castle of Dublin : Bernard de Uniak, Esq. was resident at Cork, in 1305, as appears by an entry on the plea-roll of that year. His son, Bernard de Uniak, Esq. of Youghal, со. Cork, living in 1311, is mentioned in the plea-roll, and also in the great roll of the pipe, all preserved in that depository of ancient records.
