[edit] Image:Breakdown of the incoming solar energy.jpg

Where did you get your information for this breakdown?Watersoftheoasis 22:46, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm a bit confused by your "Energy Intensity" plot at "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Energy_Intensity.png". I'm assuming MJ/$ is megajoules per dollar, but what does this mean? Number of megajoules of energy consumed in the country per dollar of GDP? Number of megajoules you can buy with a dollar in that country? Perhaps you could add an explanation of the plot's units to the summary. Thanks for the contribution anyway!

[edit] To add...

To the unsigned person: No, just how much energy is used per dollar of GNP. Say, if you're making aluminium (70% of its cost is energy used), you'll have high value, and if you're sitting in the office, huge.

To Merlo: There are some mistakes or inconsistency in the chart. First, the GDP values in the Image:Energy consumption versus GDP.png don't match the GDP in our List of countries by GDP (PPP) per capita. Second, by this chart, some countries would have insane figures like 75MJ/$ (Russia), not physically possible (the energy alone costs ~$1 per 36 MJ) and not reflected on another chart. I noticed your graph and looked into it because it appeared to show interesting information. However, when I looked at the summary you provided, "This means that India is the most energy efficient country per capita in the world" I became concerned since the data shown says nothing that specific. I too found that your data does not match that of your source or your conclusions, as far as I can tell. Could you please clarify? --Fitzhugh (talk) 22:05, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Request to add a line of best fit.

Would you be able to add a line of best fit to this graph? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.20.70.239 (talk) 11:03, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
