Mieczysław Jagielski

Mieczysław Jagielski (1924-1997) was a Polish Communist politician and economist. He was a member of the Polish Workers' Party and from 1944, the Polish United Workers Party. He was a member of the Central Committee and Political Bureau of the Party, and deputy to the Sejm from 1957 to 1985. He is best remembered as the leader of the Communist side during negotiations with the Inter-Enterprise Strike Committee in Gdańsk in 1980.
