[edit] Category:Companies based in Solano County

Did you read the line carefully? --evrik 05:21, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Looks like I did not read it carefully enough. :) --Midnightcomm 05:24, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Hah! --evrik 05:27, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Adding metrics to acres

I see you have added 6 km2) to at least one article. Thanks. I'm busy adding so much history that I don't get around to converting acres to km. Here are more of my contributions (Plantations of Leon County) if you'd like to assist. Noles1984 20:01, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. I'll take a look. --Midnightcomm 20:30, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] One-way security

right on, with the security one! NVid 23:05, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Confused. Are you refering to this? --Midnightcomm 23:08, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
ya. NVid 23:12, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Sorry if I wasn’t more clear, I think you were correct in putting the “unreferenced” tag. NVid 23:14, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Although it seems a BIT computer generated, thanks for the welcome! NVid 23:12, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

It is. The template I used was welcome (with subst: added before it). You can see the other Welcome templates in use. --Midnightcomm 23:14, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
oh, okay. NVid 23:15, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for my welcome as well, even if it is a bit late!Ltred 19:27, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Anno Domini

You added a fact check template to the Anno Domini article. I have some good references on this topic. If you would explain on the article's talk page (Talk:Anno Domini) exactly which fact you want confirmation for, I would be happy to try to supply a citation. By the way, I did not contribute the text in question. --Gerry Ashton 02:51, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

(responded as requested) --Midnightcomm 22:42, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Walter B. Woodbury

Thanks! And thanks for the date wikifying. Pinkville 03:36, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Visual perception and Underwater vision

These topics should stay separate - the merge is not required as the topics are disparate. Visual perception is about photochemistry, neurological and psychological aspects of vision in humans. Underwater vision is a physical concept of visual distortions expected for aquatic life and divers - it is of sufficient scientific interest to deserve its own spot on Wikipedia. EyeMD T|C 11:08, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

okay --Midnightcomm 18:01, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] No prob

No problem, I'll add more when I get the time. :) Thanks for starting it!--Hughgr 00:35, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Context in Nemšová article

Why did you add that context template immediately?! You saw that the article was just created, and you'll dog me quickly for missing few words, but why didn't have you added it yourself, then? Well, after that I must say that I'm sorry to tell you that I'm really upset, because I don't like people who criticize everything but don't want to fix that thing. MarkBA 22:01, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I did not intend to cause offense. I think it is usually a good idea for the original author to be allowed to stabilize a new article before I "jump in" and start fixing everything. --Midnightcomm 23:32, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:JohnstonDiagram NotAandNotB.PNG

>> I made a SVG version of Image:JohnstonDiagram NotAandNotB.PNG and called it Image:Not A and Not B.svg. Does the image look correct to you? --Midnightcomm 22:09, 21 November 2006 (UTC) <<

Not really: first of all, the SVG version is missing a blue rectangular border. This border represents the universal set, which in turn represents (for Johnston diagrams) the set of all possibilites, i.e. the "set of all possible worlds". In the fifth paragraph of the Johnston diagram article, this universal set and its representative rectangle are explicitly mentioned, so please add a blue rectangular border.
In the other diagrams, the letters A and B are blue in order to match the blue circular boundaries of "sets A and B". If the region outside both A and B but inside the universal set were to become black (as it does in some of the other diagrams), then these black letters would disapper, but if they were blue they would still be visible, so the letters do need to be blue, please.
Then, the region outside both A and B but inside the blue rectangular frame should be white, not colorless, because white represents "possibility", as mentioned explicitly in paragraph four, whereas colorlessness was not assigned any meaning. So, if you make these changes, the SVG version will look correct to me. —AugPi 01:44, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Thank you. I will make the necessary corrections. --Midnightcomm 16:14, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
>> Is the image now correct? --Midnightcomm 16:42, 22 November 2006 (UTC) <<
Yes, perfect! And if you want to convert the rest of my Johnston diagrams to SVG, you're welcome to do so. —AugPi 17:43, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Hi there. I was wondering if you could please keep an eye on the user who has been continuing to be inexplicably uncivil towards me for speaking with Big Boss 0 previously over a simple edit. Nightmare 81 continues to extend the comments made to his/her original statement on my talk page, despite being told to act more civily/calm down by both you and Big Boss 0. I do feel as if the user is making personal attacks toward me, when he/she was not even involved in the edit in question him/herself, and that perhaps personal attack warnings would be in order. As adding them to the user's page myself will probably only provoke him/her more, would you kindly please help me out a bit on this issue? Thanks a lot. --Benten 00:47, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

I left a message on Nightmare 81's talk page about civility. As requested I will check up on said user from time to time. --Midnightcomm 01:24, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Repeat Copyright violation

Logan College of Chiropractic has had official marketing material repeatedly added—a copyright violation. I have reverted a few times without effect.

What would be an appropriate action? --Midnightcomm 18:36, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

You don't want to revert too many times or you might break the 3 revert rule Template:Emot. I'll shoot over there now and have a look, and then I'll report back here. Cheers! Yuser31415 (Review me!) 20:07, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I've reverted it. If you've any problems with it again, just get hold of me. Cheers! Yuser31415 (Review me!) 20:13, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Thank you. --Midnightcomm 04:13, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "What did I do?" at Twisted Sister

I saw your edit summary "what did I do" in the Twisted Sister article and I figured it out. You and I saw the vandalism deletion of a large section of the article around the same time and we both went to put it back. By a couple of seconds, I reverted it first. Therefore, when you went to revert the current version to the previous one, you accidentally reverted the current version I had just created (the good one) back to the bad one, instead of vice versa. Don't worry about it, and be glad you caught the mistake yourself; I once got a "blatant vandal" warning on my userpage as a result of the exact same thing; with so many people watchlisting articles and fixing bad edits, it's going to happen sometimes. Hope this clears it up, Newyorkbrad 23:09, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for understanding. --Midnightcomm 23:12, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Apple iPhone.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Apple iPhone.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:05, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please give images good descriptions

I noticed you've uploaded Image:Yellow star Jude Jew.svg to commons and I thought I should turn your attention to a common error.
Please give some thought to writing a good description of uploaded images. This ensures that they can be used in more than one way. It also helps those that review and improve categories do a better job, which also ensures that images will get used in novel and interesting ways. Thanks, and happy editing! Yonatan (contribs/talk) 00:32, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I originally uploaded the file March 2, 2006, the recent upload was just some modifications. I will see about providing a better description. Thank you. --Midnightcomm 02:56, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] thanks

Thanks for your help. As you obviously are aware, I realized that the source was the OC coroner's office and noted it as such. Thanks again! JPatrickBedell 19:41, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reasons to Homeschool Table

Hep! Tried switching the table back to the left and some other photos to the right to balance that way, which works pretty well, but it still needs whitespace behind the table as you can see, and I can't tell from the code what to do to achieve that. Tanks Darentig 16:52, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ted Bundy

[edit] Image:Puppeter template.svg

This is prbably alot to ask, but is it possible for you to make the background clear, like the old .GIF image on this template? (notice the image's background is the same as the template) --AAA! (AAAA) 03:41, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

The image background is transparent (clear). I'm not quite sure what you intend. See [1] --Midnightcomm 21:12, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Look at the old .GIF image in the link above. You see how it's blended in with the background of the template? --AAA! (AAAA) 03:09, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Are you using Internet Explore? When running IE 6 inside Wine, I see a white background around the image—which is undesirable. I will see what I can do about it. IE shows SVG images rendered by MediaWiki as having a white background. See Image:Commons-logo.svg. --Midnightcomm 04:10, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

I've made a new version at Image:Puppeter template f8eaba.svg. Unfortunately, it does not blend perfectly for me in IE 6 (running inside Wine). --Midnightcomm 04:21, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Gsod.svg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Gsod.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:25, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Howtoons

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Howtoons, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Howtoons is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Howtoons, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 23:30, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Howtoons

Howtoons, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Howtoons satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Howtoons and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Howtoons during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Jmlk17 00:24, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Channel 6 (Ireland).png

Thanks for uploading Image:Channel 6 (Ireland).png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:59, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
