[edit] My Wikipedia work

I especially put a lot of work into articles relating to Edgar Allan Poe. I do not claim to own any of the articles relating to Poe, though I am occasionally stubborn about them. Even so I strongly encourage people to be bold and mercilessly edit those pages. I'm also always willing to discuss things on talk pages. I'm really not so single-minded, though. Other random interests include classic literature in general, but especially American authors of the 19th century.

The following articles should be at least at Good Article status: William Cullen Bryant, James Fenimore Cooper, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Margaret Fuller, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Washington Irving, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, James Russell Lowell, Horace Mann, Herman Melville, Henry David Thoreau, Mark Twain, Walt Whitman, John Greenleaf Whittier. As time and resources permit, I hope to see them improve.

[edit] Current priorities

Honestly, I've been all over the place lately.

Collaborators welcome!

Note to self: Potential Poe featured topic... "Overview of Edgar Allan Poe": Edgar Allan Poe, Death of Edgar Allan Poe, Edgar Allan Poe's literary influence, Bibliography of Edgar Allan Poe. Will this work or be considered cherry-picking?

Note to others: You may find me working on similar projects with the same user name, Midnightdreary. Yes, it's me.

[edit] More about me

I strongly believe that people who spend more time editing their user page than actual articles aren't really reaching their full potential in the WikiCommunity. Beyond that, Everything you need to know about me you can learn from a userbox. That's why they're there. :)

Okay, if you'd like to know more... over the years, I... have taught journalism to college students; been the GM of an FM radio station; had fiction, nonfiction, and memoirs published in newspapers, literary journals, and online; given a speech to an audience of over 4,000 people; successfully quit smoking and given up caffeine (at the same time); eaten alligator meat; lived in or near four major US cities; had a college office dedicated in my name; watched the Steelers win a SuperBowl (on TV) while living in Pittsburgh (a major event, as any Pittsburgher would tell y'inz)... etc.

On the other hand, I have never... been to Asia; tasted an alcoholic beverage; been married or had children; published a novel; starred in a movie; won a spelling bee; memorized an entire poem by Edgar Allan Poe; won a game of chess; had a conversation with my grandmother (who speaks a different language); seen a tornado; been to the west coast of the US; fired a gun... etc.
