[edit] Clear: both;
I added a clear: both, so that other infoboxes would not float left of this box. Bryan 12:34, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] usage
Could we clarify in which articles this template is to be used? Can I use it in any aticle related to Tolkien, or are there restrictions? Currently it seems to me that it is mostly used in articles about Tolkien's literature, and only very scarcely in articles about characters or realms of Middle-earth. If there are no such restrictions, I would like to integrate it into these articles too. -- Galadh 08:55, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
- There are no 'official restrictions', but people have different views of how widespread/prevalent portal links should be. When I created this template I thought about putting it on all Middle-earth articles, but there was some resistance to that so I started with the main topics. Others have expanded it since then. I think it would certainly be appropriate to add to major characters and locations. You might ask for opinions at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Middle-earth. --CBDunkerson 21:15, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Merge
Why not to include this template (i.e. link to Me-portal) into Tolkienchar, LOTRplace templates etc., for example as an additional row at the bottom?
- There will be no need to reference two templates
- Paragraphs of an article won't look like steps surrounding boxes of different width
- The link will appear automatically in most Tolkien pages - or, if decided to be deleted, nowhere. --Surendil 14:43, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think we should first incorporate it into {{ME-project}}, and then consider how to put it in articles. Some people disagree with putting portal links into articles, and exactly where to place them, so we have to be careful. I personally think the current link looks odd and needs redesigning. I would personally put the link down near the external links. Carcharoth 09:46, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
