[edit] Management
After many years of ownership by the Jacobs Group of Cleveland, Midway Mall was sold to The Westfield Group in the 2001 as part of the Jacobs Group's divestitures, adopting the name Westfield Midway during Westfield's ownership. Westfield later announced in spring 2006,that the mall didn't fulfil their "strategic plan". In May 2006 the Westfield Group sold Midway Mall to Centro Properties Group, [1] at which point it reverted to its original name Midway Mall. Dillard's closed late 2007 due to poor sales, and there is rumors that JCPenny will leave after lease ends in 2009. (due to building of new store in a development in Avon, Ohio.) Plans are underway to redevelop the shopping center.
