Midnight is a 1934 film noir directed by Chester Erskine and starring Sidney Fox, O.P. Heggie, Henry Hull, Margaret Wycherly, and Humphrey Bogart. The film was re-released as Call It Murder after Bogart became a movie star. His credit was enlarged to a guest star status although Bogart was eighth in the cast credits in the original release. The film is now in the public domain and as a result is widely available in the VHS and DVD formats, but most copies of the movie available are of poor quality due to[citation needed] the lack of any profit motive being available to encourage any potential restorer as others would remain free to copy and redistribute any restored version.
