Midleton railway station is a currently disused railway station situated in Midleton, a town in south-eastern County Cork, in Ireland. It is scheduled to reopen as a terminus station of the Cork Suburban Railway Line. Rail advocates hope that the line will be continued to Youghal in the future. The line is due to open in 2009 with new Park and Ride facilities for nearby commuters to Cork City.
The station opened on 10 November 1859 and was closed for goods traffic on 2 June 1978. [1]
