Midlands Bible College and Divinity School

The Midlands Bible College and Divinity School (formerly the Midlands Bible College) is a distance learning Christian College based in England. It offers theological qualifications that are accredited by the University of Wales, Lampeter. Several other non-degree courses are also available from the college. The college programmes focus mainly upon exegesis and Biblical Hermeneutics.

The Midlands Bible College was founded in 1990. Initially the focus was on classroom based teaching at the college premises in Wolverhampton near Birmingham, England, but has since shifted to focus almost entirely upon distance learning. In 2008 the name of the college was changed to Midlands Bible College and Divinity School to reflect its seminary-level studies and a forthcoming Master of Arts programme in Theology.

The current principal, and director of Undergraduate education is the Rev'd. Dr. Calvin Smith BA MEd PhD. He is assisted by a number of faculty including a number of high profile staff, including:

Upon completion of the DipHE, students can transfer to the University of Lampeter to complete the final year of the BA in Theology. The Midlands Bible College is currently developing a final year programme as well as an MA in Evangelical Studies programme. Degree level modules can also be taken individually as separate units of private study. Despite having its own premises, the Midlands Bible College and Divinity School is a specialist in distance learning education. Accordingly, the College has invested in a substantial Virtual Campus that provides students with access to online journals, books, papers and other materials available for download. There is also a community forum where students may interact.

As a distance learning provider, the school produces a large number of books and audio lectures. Further, the college publishes a journal Evangelical Review of Society and Politics.
