Middlesex High School (MHS) is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in the center of Middlesex, Middlesex County, New Jersey. It is part of the Middlesex Board of Education. The school is surrounded by Mountain View Park and all its athletic complexes, including Memorial Field.

As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 652 students and 57.7 classroom teachers (on a FTE basis, for a student-teacher ratio of 11.3.[1]

The Middlesex High School Blue Jays compete in the Greater Middlesex Conference, comprised of 33 public and private high schools located in the greater Middlesex County area. The league operates under the supervision of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.

Boys' soccer and wrestling teams operate on a cooperative basis with Dunellen High School, with Middlesex serving as the host school.[2]

  • Football - Central Jersey Championship: 1971, 1972 and 1975 (Group 2); 1981, 1982 and 1984 (Group 1). Current Coach: Rich Gianchiglia.
  • Softball - Central Jersey Group 1 Championship: 2000, 2001 (7-2 vs. Bound Brook High School[3]), 2002, 2003 and 2004. 2004 Group 1 Championship. 2005 GMCT Championship. Winningest Coach: Stan Spiridon (current V.P.) Current Coach: Jennifer Grasso.
  • Baseball - Central Jersey Group 1 Championship: 1982, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1998, 2003 and 2007 (with a 13-3 win over Metuchen High School[4]). Three more CJG1 titles exist. 1990 Group 1 Champions. The team won the 2007 NJSIAA Group I Baseball State Championship, defeating Pennsville Memorial High School 9-8 in the semifinals and Hoboken High School 14-12 in the group final.[5] Winningest Coach: John DeCola (currently gym teacher), Current Coach: Mike O'Donnell. Retired Number: 26 - Brian Parenti.
  • Girls Tennis - Titles have been won, years will be determined. Winningest Coach: Joe Miceli; Current Coach: Bill Hottensen.
  • Boys Tennis - Central Jersey Group 1 Championship: 2003 and 2007 (with a 3-2 win vs. Florence Township Memorial High School[6]). Winningest Coach: Joe Miceli; Current Coach: Bill Hottensen.
  • Boys Soccer - Current Coach: Keith Murray.
  • Girls Soccer - Current Coach: Heidi Figel
  • Boys Basketball - Central Jersey Group 1 Championship: 1994. Current Coach: Brian Feath.

  • Golf - 2007 3rd place in Central/South Group 1. Coach: Mike Hayes
