Mid America Industrial Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mid America Industrial Park is Oklahoma's largest industrial park. The park is located in Pryor Creek, Oklahoma. Over 70 firms are located within the industrial park including operations of eight Fortune 500 companies. The park was founded in 1960 and is 9,000 acres (36 km²). [1]

[edit] Recent expansion

Lately the industrial park has undergone a great deal of growth. In 2006 Pepsico announced they would build a Gatorade plant that would employ 280 people.[2] Still more excitement surrounds the possibility of the addition of a Google data center to the park. The data center would contain thousands of servers that require a great deal of electricity. In early April 2007 Google officials revealed that the company was interested in opening a data center in Mid America Industrial Park. One of the major reasons that Google was interested in the site was the quality land and low cost of electricity. [3]

The Mid America Industrial park is also home to a branch of OSU-Okmulgee, which has some of the classes that OSU-Okmulgee provides.
