[edit] Taking another shot

Hey s'up. I noticed that you tried to a Greek-Turkish cooperation board here, and since you said that it was dead, I went ahead and created another one here. After I created it, Khoikhoi pointed me to your page, so I included the "principles" section from your own proposal, I hope that you don't mind :))) Please drop by and tell me (or others) what you think. I have been busy lately as well, but now that I have some more extra time, I am trying to give some sort of impetus to resolve some disputes. What happenned to that naming convention proposal? Cheers! Baristarim 06:42, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Hi Michalis. Cypriot refugees is being reverted. In my opinion the version User:Aristovoul0s is reverting to is completely unnaceptable. I'd appreciate if you could have a read and comment on the talk page. I am frustrated that since its creation aristovoul0s has made no attempt whatsoever to curb the pov. Please have a look, thanks, --A.Garnet 18:20, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hey Mike, about those comments on the siberian page

You still need me to remind you, commie? Lets get with the program pinko. Russians didn't win small engagement (though they did lose to the polish at Warsaw, LOL!. You can try and take my comments away from the page, but that won't work. YankeeRoman(24.75.194.50 21:07, 1 December 2006 (UTC))

If you have anything to say about the article, do so at the relevant talk page. "Those comments" you refer to is actually a single edit requesting further information that I did two months short of a year ago. By the way, if you think it was I that removed your comment you are mistaken: Greek IPs are not in the 208 domain and I don't edit anonymously. As for this page, I didn't remove your comment, it got archived with the rest of the page. --Michalis Famelis (talk) 22:01, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RfC on Mitsos

Hi. I'm acting as advocate for an editor who has been having issues with Mitsos. As part of the DR process, we have opened an RfC in order to get community input on behavior that several users feel is uncivil and biased. Seeing as how you have interacted with Mitsos in the past, we would appreciate any input you may have on the matter. Please visit the Request for Comment page and leave your thoughts. Thanks very much, Bobby 15:51, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question

I 've started making minor edits to Hrisi Avgi, fixing citation problems. I would like to ask you about the sentence which says that HA participated in the 1999 european elections, which is unsourced and has a [citation needed] tag. I 'm asking you because you wrote the sentence, and I 'd like to know where you found that information. Mitsos 16:53, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Mitsos 10:30, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Οχι εγω. Ο σπαιλαμπ και ο σαντυντανσερ ηθελαν να μην αναφερεται το "Iospess journalist team". Αν θες μπορεις να το ξαναβαλεις, παντως το "left-leaning" πρεπει να μεινει. Mitsos 10:37, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Diamonitirion

Hi. I have a tech question. I've seen your request for deleting a Diamonitirion image based on copyright violations. It's true I can't understand Greek (and the English text is only a few lines), but why a Diamonitirion on WP wouldn't be OK? I was intending to upload one. Thank you. adriatikus | 23:44, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello, nice to meet you. I would be very very surprized if anyone sued WP for copyright violation of the athonite seal or the symbols of the athonite community or the church which are present on the diamonitirion. However, they are there, along with the signatures of the representatives of the monasteries. And it doesn't quite strike me as proper to publish those under a free license. I am not a lawyer of course but minutes after I had uploaded it, I felt I had violated their rights, and the rights of the athonite community as a whole. I cannot say I can offer any kind of legal opinion, it just didn't feel right. Anyway, that's my opinion, you can of course act as you see fit. :-) --Michalis Famelis (talk) 00:38, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your answer. My guess is no problems will arise publishing such an image (like they've did it here [1]), but I'll dig into it ;) adriatikus | 15:36, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:1drachmi 1973.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:1drachmi 1973.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] kopelitsa

Με την ελληνική βικιπαίδεια άρχισα να ασχολούμαι γιατί μου την έδινε το ότι είναι τόσο μικρή και περιορισμένη (με το ζόρι 25.000 άρθρα) ενώ κάτι άκυρες γλώσσες έχουν πολύ περισσότερα, βλέπε πολωνική (4η σε κατάταξη), ολλανδική (7η), εσπεράντο, καταλανική, λομβαρδιανή (τι'ν'τουτο;). Και νομίζω ότι αυτό οφείλεται στο γεγονός ότι οι περισσότεροι έλληνες χρησιμοποιούν (και γράφουν) στην αγγλική. Αλλά γιατί η δική μας να μένει πίσω;

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Z_Yves_Montand.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Z_Yves_Montand.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 02:37, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Kne.gif

I have tagged Image:Kne.gif as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 02:42, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Allophilia_Scale_svg.svg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Allophilia_Scale_svg.svg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. [edit] Image:AKOA.jpg

I have tagged Image:AKOA.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. [edit] About the dispute mediation

Gia sas Famelis. I just wanted to inform you that because of your mediation, we managed to reach a satisfactory solution in the dispute about NOF. National Liberation Front (Macedonia) and Slavic Macedonian National Liberation Front are the main articles, and the other ones are deleted. Thank you once again from the both of us. Euharisto poli. There is only one more issue. The user Jingiby is constantly changing the article National Liberation Front (Macedonia), imputing Nazi Great-Bulgarian propagandistic text. And also he uses words like "Grecomans", and so on. He has made an article called Grecomans and links that article to all Greek related topics. I warned him on his talk page that that word is not an official scientific word neither in Greece, neither in Republic of Macedonia (slavophone Macedonia). And I saw that other people have problems with his behavior. I don't ask you to try to stop him changiong the article, but you may just through an eye on his talk page, and just warn him not to use this words, and not to spam articles related to Greece and R. Macedonia (slavophone). P.S. I would like to add that the article about NOF is a draft, I will soon develop it and show (as it really happened) that Greeks and ethnic Macedonians can live like brothers as they fought like brothers in the civil war. [edit] Notability of Movement for the United in Action Left

A tag has been placed on Movement for the United in Action Left requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WebHamster 16:43, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Meetup in Athens

Hello! I'd like to turn the first meetup of Wikipedians in Athens, Greece to your attention. We're a group of students involving three German Wikipedia admins and have set up this meetup for March 31st, 6:00 PM (18:00). The location is (to be exspected) the Ama Lachi. We'd very much like seeing as many Wikipedians from Greece as possible. We'd also like some help with the setup of the meeting; we need a contactsman in Athens. Hello Michalis Famelis!

You are cordially invited to participate in WikiProject Christianity

The goal of WikiProject Christianity is to improve the quality and quantity of information about Christianity available on Wikipedia. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:1drachmi 1973.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:1drachmi 1973.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:15, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
