[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Tentrecords.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Tentrecords.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images.

[edit] Bad fair use of Image:Singleshine.jpg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Singleshine.jpg, by ShakespeareFan00 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Singleshine.jpg is an image with a clearly invalid fair use tag; or it is an image that fails some part of the non-free content criteria and the uploader has been given 48 hours' notification (for images uploaded after 2006-07-13) or seven days' notification (for images uploaded before that date). (CSD I7).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Singleshine.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 13:44, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright problems with Image:Zoom.ogg

An image that you uploaded, Image:Zoom.ogg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 13:53, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:Titojackson.jpg

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Titojackson.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.  But|seriously|folks  19:09, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Jackson54.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Jackson54.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  But|seriously|folks  04:27, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Singleshine.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Singleshine.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 12:41, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A request

Hello! As you may have noticed, I've removed some of the alerts about image deletions from your talk page. This is because fair use rationales have been added to these images thereby preventing from being deleted. You are of course welcome to revert my removals of these warnings. In the future you can avoid getting more alerts by entering a valid fair use rationale when you upload an image. If you look at some of your now edited images you will see that this is not as daunting as it sounds and can be relatively standard, espcially for album covers. If you need any help with these please do not hesitate to ask me on my talk page. There is one image where I slightly unhappy with the fair use because of the resolution. Fair use images must be of a low resolution to qualify under US copyright law and I'm a little concerned about the size of Image:Singleshine.jpg. If you could upload a lower resolution version I would be happy to help you with writing a valid fair use rationale. Thankyou for your contributions and I hope you continue to contribute although I understand that Wikipedia can be daunting at first. If you need any help, please do not hestitate to ask. Regards, Farosdaughter 22:17, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:C272_1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:C272_1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:55, 4 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 01:55, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Michael Barnett

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. -- Merope 15:07, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Buster Pearson

Please stop adding unreferenced controversial biographical content to articles, as you did at Buster Pearson. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --krimpet 16:45, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Best.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Best.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 12:51, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

I changed your licensing {{GFDL-no-disclaimers}} on the image description page to {{non-free album cover}} because the linked page as to where the image is being used is all about singles and definitely the image is the cover of the single. That's an image copyright violation so i changed. Currently, the image is tagged with {{di-no fair use rationale}} because it highly needs fair use rationale for it not to be deleted soon. Kindly supply. Thank you. ----βandβ (talkcontribs) 10:29, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:5154JHWct5L AA280 .jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:5154JHWct5L AA280 .jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 12:55, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Five-Star-Strong-As-Steel-294317.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Five-Star-Strong-As-Steel-294317.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

[edit] License tagging for Image:3787736660a3895817853b573348734l.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:3787736660a3895817853b573348734l.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:05, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Scott Bradley (UK Singer)

A tag has been placed on Scott Bradley (UK Singer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Michael barnett (Producer)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Michael barnett (Producer), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Pro-active Recordings. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 09:37, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:11095144 155 155.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:11095144 155 155.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

[edit] April 2008

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to :Image:Nspeight.jpg. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Gwernol 22:00, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for repeated uploading of a copyrighted image while claiming authorship. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|unfair block, did not relise any wrong was done}} below.

Gwernol 22:11, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Please do not remove current block notices from your talk page. You are welcome to remove it after the block has expired and you may request an unblock as outlined above. Thanks, Gwernol 22:23, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "unfair block, did not relise any wrong was done"

Decline reason: "You clearly did know, I see multiple warnings on this page. — Yamla (talk) 22:45, 13 April 2008 (UTC)"

Please make any further unblock requests by using the {{unblock}} template. However, abuse of the template may result in your talk page being protected.

PLEASE REMOVE MY ACCOUNT FROM WIKIPEDIA I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH WIKIPEDIA, FIRST TIME I DO ANYTHING WRONG AND IM BLOCKED, OTHER PEOPLE HAVE ABUSED WIKIPEDIA AND NOT BEEN TREATED LIKE THIS> CLOSE MY ACCOUNT. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Michaelbarnett72 (talkcontribs)

The first time? There are at least thirty warnings on this page. You have repeatedly abused Wikipedia by uploading images in violation of our rules. This has been going on since 2006. If you can't be bothered to read and understand our rules in two years, you really have no right to complain about a 24 hour block. Claiming that you are the copyright holder to an image which you clearly copied from a website is not only putting Wikipedia in legal jeopardy, but also putting yourself at legal risk. We do not delete accounts, there is no way to do this. Gwernol 22:51, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Again, please don't blank this page, as it removes the block and unblock notices which are still active. If you continue to remove them, I will restore them and protect the page to prevent you from continuing to edit it. Gwernol 23:09, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
