Michael Sappir (Hebrew: מיכאל ספיר) was born June, 1988, and then raised, in Jerusalem, Israel. He now resides in Leipzig, Germany. He is a native speaker of American English, son to an American mother and an Israeli father. In addition to English and Hebrew--which he speaks at least as well as most native speakers--he has studied [[German language|German], and is now fluent -- though he does make a mistake here and there. For a year, he served in civilian National Service in a Hospital in Tel Aviv, where he learned a lot of Russian from his coworkers.

He initially joined Wikipedia in order to expand and improve the coverage on subjects related to the Sudbury schools. He also joined the Hebrew Wikipedia for the same reason but lately he doesn't seem to contribute much to either wiki. He has no good excuse for this.
