Talk:Microsoft Game Studios
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- Please note that if somebody is going to edit the page with a major announcment such as Sega being purchased by Microsoft, it requires a citation.
- If that is the case then it should be easy to prove, as in find some sort of evidence, some sort of citation that shows crystal clear that Digital Anvil still exists and that Microsoft actually owns Mistwalker rather then them being merely a development partner.
- Ah, the disadvantes of letting just ANYONE edit show their ugly faces. So, because Mistwalker works on the DS, a noncompeting platform, they are not owned...and yet if you look at Rare's release list YEARS after being purchased, on occasion their annual releases would be composed of nintendo handheld titles ENTIRELY. Working on the DS means nothing, Mistwalkler is owned by Microsoft, Digital Anvil still exists, etc.
- Also, don't remove games that actually belong on the list like Forza Motorsport 2 and Flight Simulator X.
- That doesn't mean Mistwalker is owned by Microsoft, they do develop for other systems (Like the Nintendo DS). The physical DIgital Anvil is no more, doesn't exist, their employees miht work for other MGS braches but there is no more Digital Anvil. You are going to need to show some proof that Microsoft owns Silicon Knights in any way. Once again, they are merely a partner to Microsoft, not an internal studio.
- Mistwalker is a partner in the same way that Rare was a "partner" during the 49% ownership of Nintendo, Digital Anvil was merely reorganized, not killed off. The only ones that are valid for removal are Silicon Knights and Indie Built, and the first one is pretty shaky.
Please stop adding studios that are not actually owned by Microsoft (Silicon Knights and Mistwalker are merely partners) or studios that have no present affilation with Microsoft (Digital Anvil was shut down and Indie Built was sold off to 2K Games and then shut down).
- Please stop removing studios.

[edit] DS Games
What about the DS games that bear the Microsoft Game Studio logo??
[edit] ok?
im not sure but if i know that a game is going to be a trilogy do i list the trilogy. eg mass effect is going to be a trilogy however nobody has stated this. thnx MasterEditor99 19:06, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Burger King games
The Burger King games were not published by Microsoft Game Studios - they were funded and distributed by Burger King themselves - the games were only available from Burger King restaurants. The official Xbox.com page for Sneak King even lists Burger King as the publisher [1]. And the Microsoft Game Studios logo is not on the box for those titles. SeanMooney 01:50, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
I am going to put it back because even if a game doesn't have the microsoft game studios logo on the front you can tell its a microsoft game studios game if the address on the back of the game says one microsoft way and I'm looking at my copy of sneak king and it says one microsoft way and xbox.com sometimes makes mistakes like with vampire rain it says it was published by aq interactive but it was microsoft game studios and a publisher does not always distribute a gameMarioman12 16:51, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well if you are going to re-add it those games then find an official source that says it was published by Microsoft - a press release or interview or something. Just because the Microsoft address is listed on the back of the box does not mean they published the game. Like I said the official site says otherwise, the ESRB website says otherwise, there is no Microsoft Game Studios logo on the box, and they were only available from BK restaurants. If you can find something official and reference it then fine, but don't add it just because you think so. SeanMooney 21:41, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
