[edit] QUESTION:
I have tried to correct the language and grammar in this article, so maybe the banner inviting people to correct this article can be removed? I would like to invite someone with knowledge of the English language to check if the article is now acceptable for Wikipedia.
- I made some more minor adjustments but the article itself, though pretty good in itself, still doesn't really "feel" right. --Lomedae 12:35, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

- It's far better than the average article, so I have removed the tag. Anybody who still has quibbles should put a little work into it. Chris the speller 22:45, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] De Ruyter's real name
Historian Ivo van Loo of the Zeeuws Archief has discovered in the archives that De Ruyter's real name was Trouwhand. This is in a book that will be published tomorrow, called Kapitein Trouwhand. De Zeeuwse jaren van Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter, 1607-1655. "De Ruyter" was his nickname, which is related to the first ship he captained, De Grijze Hengst (The Grey Stallion). Ruyter (spelled as ruiter nowadays) means horse rider. I will add the information as soon as possible, after the book has been published and more is known about this. I am related to him.
