[edit] Retired from acting?

The article currently asserts that Tylo has retired from acting (even aside from the edit war about the intro). What independent reliable sources exist to back that claim up?

Technically, IMDB is not reliable, but his last credit there is for 2006. That tells me that if he is retired, it happened very recently. —C.Fred (talk) 05:47, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

i've been unable to find any reliable source that actually says anything definitive on the matter. the point of contention that i've worked from is that the 'michaeltyloonline.com' site states that he currently works full time as a professor. that implies that he no longer works as a professional actor - one rarely can manage to work full time at more than one profession. i don't know who originally contended he'd retired, and since we don't have a reliable source to either confirm or deny it, we're rather stuck. an anon tried to push changes to state that he is currently active as an actor - also citing the michaeltyloonline.com site - but the problem is that that site contradicts the assertion. zero reliable sources. IMDB is indeed certainly not reliable. it's worth keeping in mind that at least for film acting, a performance credited in 2006 may have been performed in 2004 for all we know. so it provides no real clue to his current status. perhaps culling the 'retired' assertion, but not making any specific claims as to whether he's still active, is the way to go. [edit] Not retired

Michael Tylo is still acting, and his website has been keeping track of all the productions he's been in. This could have been seen in both the articles section as well as the credits section on his website [www.michaeltyloonline.com]. In addition to that, I have now updated the bio on his site to reflect the fact that in spite of being a full time professor, he is still also acting (note last paragraph listing his recent acting jobs). Hope this clears things up. -webmaster/michaeltyloonline.com Lifefires (talk) 16:17, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

thanks for adding good-quality citations to the article. WP lives and dies by the quality of information in it. unsourced assertions are indistinguishable from vandalism quite often, so if a reliable source can be cited, it improves the article immensely.
