[edit] Misrepresentation

With all due respect, this has nothing to do with Judaism. Jews do not believe in Jesus and would not call the Apostle Paul (the founder of Christianity) Rav Shaul. Looks like certain someone is trying to prove a WP:POINT a little too hard. ←Humus sapiens ну? 10:02, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

I heartily disagree with much of that thinking, Humus. First of all, you treat Judaism as a monolithic entity, acting as though Judaism CANNOT be compatible with the belief that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah just because most Jews don't believe that he is. Shaul was not the founder of Christianity (the pagan gentiles he was writing his letters to, in an effort to improve them, were); that is a centuries-old myth. The Romans study, if you would read this, shows this with great clarity: http://yashanet.com/studies/romstudy/index.htm I have seen A Rood Awakening several times, so I can confirm quite a bit more than you can because his website is the only other real source of information about him, which has been designed to be very vague and more "Christian-friendly". From watching his sermons and criticisms of them, I know some of the following information, which this stub-article doesn't display: He is not an ethnic Jew, he currently lives and teaches from Israel, he converted to an Orthodox observance of Judaism (when he did so I am not sure), he believes that all Christianity is at least somewhat pagan-derived because it treats the Messiah as a deity and rejects the Torah, and he views universal observance of Torah as the destiny of humanity, and uses a large amount of archeology when teaching. IIRC, his best friend is a Karaite. The fact that he believes that Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah doesn't cancel this. Historically, it is becoming extremely apparent that the teachings of Yeshua (as well as his early contemporaries) were necessarily within Judiasm, and that most of the people they taught were Jews (and a smaller number of proselytes in the synagogues). Of course, the Brit Chadasha doesn't use the term Judaism (just as the Tanakh doesn't), because that spoke for itself when it was written and they never imagined that "Christianity" would develop.
Changes I definitely agree with are: Adding a References section, adding more quotes to the article (even though that website really isn't sufficient at explaining Rood or his theology), changing the stub from a Judaism stub (even though that would work) to a People stub, and cleaning it up to make it look a little better. I will use this current version of the page and insert some more relevant and factual information, so tell me what you think. Luzadi7 18:15, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Interesting, Humus. I think it is downright criminal that you are OK with removing factual information from a tiny article. Luzadi7 22:54, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Sorry I don't have time for long sermons. MR was not born Jewish and he believes in Jesus. Yeah right, he must be Jewish. ←Humus sapiens ну? 00:16, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Except that if you knew the first thing about Judaism, you would understand that a Jew is one of several things. 1.)An ethnic Jew that practices Judaism 2.)An ethnic Jew that does not practice Judaism OR 3.)A gentile (non-Jew) proselyte to Judaism by conversion (which Michael Rood is). Apologies that you don't have time for any "sermons". Luzadii 02:40, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
