"Some believed that MP3.com received unfair treatment by being lumped in with the Napster copyright case which took place during the same period.[citation needed] Others noted that the ruling came from the 2nd Circuit District Court in New York, which is media company, not technology, friendly.[citation needed]

Some have speculated that a different outcome was likely if the case had been tried in the 9th Circuit Court (a federal district court that serves the West Coast) instead of the 2nd Circuit Court (a federal district court that serves the East Coast)."

perhaps the above should be deleted unless citations can be found. i have searched and been unable to find such citations.

"Michael Robertson (born 1967) is the founder and former CEO of MP3.com. He started Lindows.com, Inc., producer of Linspire (originally Lindows), in October 2001 in San Diego, California, U.S.. He went on to found SIPphone, MP3tunes, and Ajax 13." This is a very bad introductory text: it contains too many abbreviations and is poorly written. Anyone want to change this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.210.160.209 (talk) 18:01, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Could this be clarified: ...the 2nd Circuit in New York which is media company .... I'm confused... 2nd Circuit court is a media company? What did the poster intend?

The "2nd Circuit Court" is a USA Federal Court, not a company. See United_States_federal_courts. Jebba 22:45, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
