[edit] Death

I'm seeing reports on blogs that Mr. Jackson has passed away at home. I'm still looking for a verifiable source. —Wrathchild (talk) 16:01, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

This seems pretty good, http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/news_detail.aspx?articleid=49858 Zzorse 16:33, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Seeing Michael Jackson's name in the death page scared me

I thought it was the Michael Jackson everyone knows - Jcdizon 17:53, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

No, not the pop singer, and although he may not be known by "everyone", this man was quite famous in his own right. Microbrewers and pubowners all over the world, as well as beer drinkers such as myself, are quite familiar with Jackson's work and legacy, and are saddened by his death. --buck 19:47, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Jcdizon's post here makes me sad and even a little angry, mainly because i know he's not the only one who will have that reaction. Seeing Mr. Jackson's name on the death page scared me too, but i wasn't for a moment thinking about the has-been 'king of pop'. I love single malt whisky and flavorful beer. for the popularization/availability that those drinks are enjoying at the moment, i think I owe Michael Jackson quite a bit of thanks. I hate to think that the other guy is the way this name is going down in history. 66.148.132.114 18:53, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Expanding

This article is really shamefully short and would really need to be expanded. MJ was probably the most well known beer (and whisky) reviewer. A good starting point would be to look through the different language wikipedias for tidbits of information. --MoRsE 22:34, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Good job all on the expansion of this article. It looks much better than it did a day ago. Too bad it took the subject's death to spur us into action. —Wrathchild (talk) 18:38, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Agreed. It would also be nice if a better photo could be found. Zzorse 19:34, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
The extra information is mainly from the Dutch wikipedia...any other information would greatly be appreciated. --MoRsE 19:37, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
I had the luck to meet Mr Jackson some time in the mid-1990s, when he was touring Finnish micro-breweries. He was just as fascinating in real life as in his stories, although I remember he preferred to talk about whiskies that time. --MoRsE 19:45, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
The best was when he appeared on Conan O'Brien and was drunk and his fly was down.--Apples99 02:33, 5 September 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Apples99 (talk • contribs)
