[edit] Is this Article Worth it's Existence?

Michael Jackson's camp has not released considerable information about his forthcoming album. This article is a collection of rumors; and rumors-collection is not what Wikipedia should be able (there are other websites and media-outlets for that). I suggest either deleting this article or minimizing it to a few sentences signaling the album is a work in process until official and reliable information is released. Which knowing Michael Jackson is after Thriller 25 dies down and a few week prior to a singles release- but the only time to get reliable album-information related to him. --Zoldello (talk) 16:15, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] So..

Thriller 25 is Michael Jackson 'forthcoming studio album?'????

[03/12/07] That segment should never have been added. If nobody objects, I'd like to delete it in two days time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.72.14 (talk) 21:40, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thriller 25

[Apparently,] MJ will release 'Thriller 25' which includes the song 'Don't Be Messin' Around' and 4 remixes of singles from thriller album. fallenscholar 09:16, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

"Don't Be Messin' Around" isn't a new song. It's not been heard before. But it's not new. It's was recorded for the Thriller album, but didn't make the final cut. Think of it as a deleted scene from a motion picture. But it is interesting that you bring the Thriller 25 project into this because the four remixes that will appear on the CD are being done by will.i.am, Kanye West and Akon. So perhaps this means that when they tell press that they've been working with Michael Jackson, they don't mean on a new album, they mean on Thriller 25. So perhaps the article should mention this at the top of the collaborators section and say it's not clear if some of the following names are working on Michael Jackson's forthcoming studio album or the 25th anniversary edition of Thriller. Street walker 22:48, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah. We should place 'Thriller 25' as a rumored Album Title (and there are rumored songs!). I placed thriller 25 here and someone 'owns' this article said that it wasn't true. He doesn't know what is the meaning of 'rumor' —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjs gigantor (talkcontribs) 07:40, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

today is N O V E M B E R 1 9 , 2 0 0 7 . . . where's the album? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjs gigantor (talkcontribs) 10:46, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes! ' ' 'Thriller 25 is coming to town' ' ' !!!fallenscholar 11:59, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

For the purpose of well rationality i have edited the section on Thriller 25 to imply that it is at the moment at least just a rumour (a very reliable rumour) but non the less just rumour. Until Jackson himself says diffinitively that it will be released who really knows!!??? There has been no confirmation, just as he was apparently going to las vegas which never happened and guess what he never confirmed it either. Lets not jump on this 1 until we are sure. Realist2 23:11, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Complete re-write

I gave the article a complete re-write because it included so much speculation and unconfirmed, unsourced information. The biggest problem was the song titles. I hope you all agree with my decision to re-write it. It is now tidier, to-the-point and sourced. Street walker 05:01, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] World Tour [ - Speculation]

Hello, I'm a fan from the United Kingdom. In regard to Michael Jackson staging a world tour in support of this album, I highly doubt he will. Michael himself has said that he 'goes through hell' when touring, hence why he never toured his Invincible album. I fully agree that a tour would definetely boost sales of the album when released, and become the biggest-grossing ever. However he would have to tour America - something he hasnt done since 1989. However as America is the world's largest record-buying market, it would be a wise move on Jackson's part. There's also going to have to be precise promotion with this album. If Jackson released 7 single's for example, they would have to be released every two months or so, accompanied by a music video. The trouble with HIStory was that only five singles were released over a period of 2 years and 2 months, this is too long a period in which to release relatively few singles - for Jackson anyway. Realistically, this new album, if promoted carefully and accompanied by a world tour, could sell in the 15-20 million region.

I dont think mj will do a world tour , but a european tour is possible. He will never tour america , he didnt in 1996 because of the 1993 alligations, so I cant see it happening now after the 2003 alligations, that said I do believe the new album will outsell invincibles 8 million score and achieve something like 11-12 million (very respectable in todays market). [edit] The Michael Jackson Company

The Michael Jackson Company is NOT a recording label. Street walker 02:41, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stop changing the article!

God! Why'd you deleted possible songs, and so on? Please don't do that any more. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lukalukaluka (talkcontribs) 13:15, 26 April 2007 (UTC).

Because the songs are FAKE!! Street walker 04:56, 27 April 2007 (UTC) And How are the songs fake?I just want to ask.......

lol, because they are. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a rumour mill. Only sourced information should be published here. Street walker 05:47, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

i wanna know how these songs are real (or fake). If you tell me, then I will believe. (Same person who asked how are the songs fake).

By that argument I could say "I should be in prison lol" is a song on the album (he was innocent of crimes, just a good example). Nothing says it ISN'T so it would be a legit rumour according to you. When we all know there's no damn way that'll happen (The Elfoid 17:19, 29 April 2007 (UTC)).

[edit] Are you saying the truth?

I looked at yahoo! search (not thoroughly) and the only article that i've found confirming that the myspace account of mike is this talk page. Where did you find that news? fallenscholar 13:07, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Record Label

Does anyone know which record company is releasing his album or is he yet to sign to a label? Volumesoxxs

- nobody knows it, people should stop putting The Michael Jackson Company in there, because IT IS DEFINITELY (!!!!!) no record label

(72.142.237.25 13:29, 20 May 2007 (UTC))

[edit] Name and Dates

I have added some names and dates for the album and they have been sourced. I reckon that we should redo this page though

[edit] Article title misleading

Since no one knows when it's being released, shouldn't the title be changed to Michael Jackson's future album? 06:10, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

This could be true, however two articles say late 2007. I think we should leave it as 2007 until December. -- Smilesau

Perhaps change the title to Michael Jackson's Eleventh Studio Album.

'Eleventh' is debatable; as I'd say "Sixth" [Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, Invincible, TBA] - How about *Next*?

You forgot HIStory in that list there, so "Seventh" (hence the rumours about the album being called simply 'Seven' that came and went sometime ago). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.132.138.217 (talk) 15:29, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Despite some new material, *History's* primarily a 'greatest hits' album. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.38.89 (talk) 18:55, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] POV

"It's expected that as the year unfolds there will be an unimaginable hype towards his new recordings."

It's a dubious statement at best. And even with a citation (which it did not have) it certainly does not belong in an Encyclopedia.

SerpentOfDarkness 22:29, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

"will be different from anything released in music history"

There is absolutley nothing in the provided link to verify this claim. Please keep this and other articles factual by using professionalism worthy of an Encyclopedia.

SerpentOfDarkness 08:52, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Article Renamed

New will.i.am interview (see new reference) states that he is going back to the studio with Jackson in November. There is no way the album will be released in 2007 if a single isn't released before then. New article title uses the same nomenclature as used for "Madonna's forthcoming studio album", as the release date is unknown. Links updated.

-- Smilesau 21:25, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rumored Collaborators

This is in there: "Jackson has signed an agreement with Guy Holmes to start his own talent show, which is expected to surpass such shows as american idol." somebody just put that in without even capital letters, let alone a source. maybe should be deleted.

It's in the wrong section and article; plus, highly dubious. Therefore, - I've removed it.

Would it be wrong to think that Tito's kids (3T) to have part in the album? or is ther a good chance —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.169.114.84 (talk) 23:29, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Collaborations Stuff

We should comment that many people said they're working on material for Jackson's new album, but it could well mean Thriller 25. My gut tells me Akon won't show up on this album, for instance. (The Elfoid (talk) 23:57, 10 December 2007 (UTC))

That's what I was going to say. Superior1 (talk) 21:07, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Release Date

On the Michael Jackson page, it says it's going to be released on February 12 via http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003679603

As far as I know, Billboard is a pretty reliable site, so shouldn't it be put?

~ **Thriller 25's** release date is Feb 12.

Also, we all know there are tracks that have been released for the album [- !?]. Many record pools are starting to receive this such as Digiwaxx. Should we not start making a table that shows the confirmed tracks? 68.8.104.62 (talk) 18:47, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

~ This isn't a 'Thriller 25' article.

[edit] Chris Brown

I heard on the radio that will i am invited Chris Brown to have an appearence on the upcoming MJ album could somebody check and possibly add it to the article? volumesoxxs 01:00, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

- Ok, I found several credible articles confirming it via a leading search engine; but there's *already* a (scant) mention under 'Rumored & Unconfirmed Collaborators'.

[edit] Album Release

In November of 2006, Access Hollywood followed Jackson to London (UK) for his stage appearance at the annual World Music Awards. Presenter Billy Bush spoke to fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, who explained that Jackson had contacted him to design his clothes for the World Music Awards and further events.[1]

- To *this* article, the Roberto Cavalli/WMA entry; doesn't belong.

[edit] 7EVEN

I'm not sure if this rumoured title belongs here. I followed the rumour since it was conceived. It was first mentioned by a member of various Michael Jackson forums who's username was 'Rubba' ('Rubba Rubba' on some forums). This user first mentioned that title on a French MJ Forum and claimed it was legit. The title spread around the internet. It was quickly dismissed by most fans. Raymone Bain was emailed and replied denying the legitimacy of this title. Since it first surfaced it hasn't really been brought up again and the user who first mentioned it, who still continues to post on various MJ forums, has not brought it up since. So make of that what you will but I think the combination of it originating for no one more than just a fan, the denial from Raymone Bain, and the fact that it hasn't been brought up in months, implies that it's fake, made up, and doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. Street walker (talk) 17:01, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

http://uploaded.to/?id=e7vgnh just found that —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.169.114.84 (talk) 04:45, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Title

This might not be of too great importance, but does anyone else think that the title for this article is a little ridiculous, or not conforming to Wikipedia standards? I haven't thought of any possible alternate names, though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.241.28.203 (talk) 01:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

I actually think the entire article is somewhat rediculous. I would have waited until we actually have some information, like a title or vague release date. This article is full of dodgy content and speculation... SGGH speak! 15:19, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

- But, there are plenty of sources backing up the claims. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.133.222.112 (talk) 16:50, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

- I think these comments ought be moved to the 'Article title misleading' section.
