Talk:Michael Harrison (publisher)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Any particular reason why this page is scheduled for deletion?
I am only a reporter, and I see this article was vandalized some time back by someone who apparently knows nothing about political talk radio. I don't want an ugly fight over whether or not the publisher is a political operative. My page on Doug Stephan was also vandalized by Bushbots, but I did not revert it for the same reason. When it comes to political articles, Wikipedia is not famous for its inclusiveness.
As a full-time talk radio observer, as well as webmaster of http://LiberalTalkRadio.com/ , I recognize Michael Harrison and Talkers magazine as the only genuine journalism in American political talk radio. He is a statesman of political debate, and you are just as likely to see shrieking liberal Randi Rhodes on the cover of Talkers as you are to see conservative whiner Michael Savage. That kind of nonpartisanship is totally lacking in modern journalism, which seems to be devoted to pitting one party against the other. Wikipedia should be promoting true journalism, because corporate-owned media has forgotten what it is.
Having said that, I understand why Wikipedia wishes Michael Harrison would disappear. I really don't care if you delete the page, because I am not interested in the internal power struggles of Wikipedia. Thank you.

As the prod said, he doesn't appear to be notable apart from the magazine - which as you'll notice I did _not_ nominate. If you'd like to contest the proposed deletion, feel free to do so following the directions in the template. It won't bother me in the least.
(PS - Political operative? Bushbot?? It is to laugh. Please remember to assume good faith.) BPMullins | Talk 15:56, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
