I think this is also the Michael Freund who was later historian in Kiel an Bonn?! You can find his publications in the German National Library (DDB) (z39.50-Gateway) with the PND 118693190. In the sixties he wrote a German History with a large circulation. Hagen Schulze today a famous historian wrote his PhD with him in Bonn.
