Talk:Michael Finley
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
come on....he plays for a team for eight years, then switches to the teams chief rival so that he can win a championship, and then gets knocked out of the playoffs by the team he used to be on the year after he leaves. if that's not irony, i dont know what is. Strawberryfire 12:04, 25 May 2006
This comment really holds no value for this article. You also do not know your facts when you say he "switches to the teams chief rival." As stated in the article he was cut as part of a one time rule that allowed the Mavericks to "cut" him and avoid having his salary count against the salary cap yet they still had to pay him the remainder of his contract. He simply signed with a team that was willing to have him. He must have proved his worth if the Spurs have kept him for so long. HotOne121 (talk) 04:51, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Michael Jordan - Five years
Something along the lines of this was recently added and then removed: “While in high school, Finley played against Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan in a game of one-on-one. After the game, Jordan told Finley that he expected to see him again, in five years.” I was curious about the statement and I actually found a source using Google, but its credibility is debatable because the site doesn’t appear to be big. Michael Finley Biography. JockBio.com. Retrieved on 2007-03-29. Any thoughts? —LOL 16:22, 29 March 2007 (UTC) No thoughts on that, but I was watching some NBA fights on youtube, and though he was not starting many of them, his is in many altercations, maybe due to the fact Shawn Bradley was his teammate. Anyone care to note something like this?
