[edit] Controversial Tackle

Does this topic really require an entire sub-heading? Essien is not the first player to make a controversial challenge and nor will he be the last. It deserves a couple of lines in the main body of text at best. Given the wording of the original piece, I assume it was inserted by a Liverpool fan and seems to be far too detailed in relation to the rest of the article. If it does stay, then may I suggest a similar piece be inserted into the Didi Hamman article for his two-footed lunge on Damien Francis last season? ;-)SteveO

Hey, I've initially edited the whole article (long time ago) and added the section about the tackle. However, it only consisted of "dry" facts and wasn't written in an against-Essien matter since I'm a Chelsea fan :) Surely it's worth mentioning it though, just like it is at the moment.Lars 08:38, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

I think it would be better if there was a picture of him in either his Chelsea or Ghana kit as it would reflect his current situation. Showing him in the Lyon kit might confuse some. --alexdeangelis86 21:13, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Yeah... there's no point having the picture of him from Lyon up. I think my friend took a picture of Essien at a game a year or two ago, let me see if I can find it. Miles Blues 01:46, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Personal life section removal

There was one paragraph in it, about a drunk driving charge Essien ended up being cleared of. That does not describe Essien's personal life, so I removed the section. Miles Blues 01:46, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Links Section

I cleaned up the links section, since there was a lot of unnecessary links there. A couple links just had career stats, so I left ESPN (which has stats and a profile), but removed the others that just listed stats (the same numbers as at ESPN). I removed a link to a fan forum. Also, 2 videos from the same site had broken links, so I removed those. Miles Blues 21:13, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
