Prince Michael George Poniatowski,. Michał Jerzy Poniatowski (1736-1794) was a Polish szlachcic, Prince-Bishop of Płock from 1773, Archbishop of Gniezno and Primate of Poland from 1784, Knight of the Order of the White Eagle, awarded November 25, 1764.

Michael George was the brother of the last King of Poland, Stanisław August Poniatowski. They had another brother, Andrew, who was enlisted in the Austrian military. Michael Poniatowski served with distinction as president of Poland's Commission of National Education. In 1794 he was accused by his brother, the king, of writing a letter of cooperation addressed to the king of Prussia. Stanislaus August sent poison to his brother, Michael, who took it, thereby committing suicide.
