Mictyris platycheles H. Milne-Edwards, 1852 |
Mictyris platycheles is a species of shore crab. They have a light blue carapace and brown-yellow pincers. They are found on shores of Japan and the east coast of Australia. They are very small crabs that prefer to live in large groups. They are commonly called soldier crab. Mictyris platycheles get their food by picking up balls of sands and putting it in their mouths, which will filter out the nutrition the crabs need for survival.
