Microsoft HealthVault is an online service from Microsoft to store and maintain health-related information.[1][2][3][4]
HealthVault features a topical search engine (essentially a front end for Live Search Health) allowing users to search specifically for health-related information. [5][6] Users can also create a HealthVault Account, which, integrating with Windows Live ID, allows users to save searches for later retrieval, store personal medical records and prescription history, manage records, upload data from medical devices such as blood pressure monitors, and analyze and manage the data.[5] The data can be shared with other health management web sites or directly with medical practitioners.[7]
HealthVault also features a desktop client, named Connection Center, that allows medical data to be uploaded to the web service and manage personal health devices such as heart rate and blood-pressure monitors. It can also be used to find and download drivers for medical devices.[5][8]
