Micrelenchus caelatus mortenseni is a subspecies of small sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Trochidae, the top shells.

This subspecies is endemic to New Zealand's Southern Islands.

This top snail is found from the intertidal zone to depths of up to 175 m.
[edit] Shell description
The Southern Islands form is small, solid, subglobose, sculptured with fine, even, granulated spiral cords, five on the penultimate.
Shell coloration is pale pink, the spirals continuously lined in dark pink.
The shell height is up to 5.5 mm, and the width is up to 5.2 mm.
