Micklethwaite, Wetherby
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Micklethwaite is an area of Wetherby, West Yorkshire. It is part of the City of Leeds. Micklethwaite lies on the south banks of the River Wharfe. Micklethwaite was at one point a village in its own rights, however through the growth of Wetherby it is now seen as an area of Wetherby. In 2004 Micklethwaite farm was mostly demolished and 150 dwellings have now been constructed. Micklethwaite also has Wetherby's Police Station, the former Magistrates Court, Wetherby's leisure centre, Wetherby Athletic Football Club and the Ramada Jarvis Hotel.
Micklethwaite is generally seen as one of the more upmarket areas of Wetherby, although not so much as Linton. Any part of Wetherby south of the River Wharfe is Micklethwaite.
