Mickey J Meyer is an Indian film composer and singer. He has composed songs in Telugu for four movies until September, 2007. He has composed over 25 songs and for the first time in his fledgling career, he has provided the background score for the movie Happy Days. He is based in Hyderabad, India.

Mickey J Meyer is said to be one of the promising new entrants into Telugu music industry. This industry, which has seen greats such as Ilayaraja and A R Rahman, has welcomed and appreciated his music. His work has mostly seen hints of Western music. He owes this to his schooling from the Trinity College of Music, London. Going by his apparent success for the music of Happy Days, this 25 year old music director is here to stay.

[edit] Early life and education

Mickey J Meyer was born and brought up in Hyderabad, India. He had been learning violin and piano since his childhood. He is also trained in Carnatic music and even while he was a kid, he used to render ghazals in All India Radio. After his fifth standard, he got admission into the prestigious Trinity College of Music, London. Established music directors from the South Indian music industry such as Harris Jayaraj and Yuvan Shankar Raja graduated from Trinity. He graduated from the eight-year long music course in the year 2002 and thereafter began practicing music. Mickey J.Meyer is the third person down south to complete the eight-year course from Trinity College of Music, London after Ilayaraja and A.R.Rehman.

Most of his life he grew up listening to A R Rahman's music and this was how he got addicted to music. After graduating from Trinity College, in [2005], he decided to become a music director. He approached Tammareddy Bharadwaja and in the form of Pothe Poni (2005), he got his first break in the Telugu music industry. His music for Pothe Poni was succeeded by 10th Class (2006) and Notebook (2007) in the following years. Thereafter, he was signed by Sekhar Kammula for Happy Days. With the success of the Happy Days audio songs, a bright future lies ahead of this young music director.
