From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Michigan Museum of Surveying is a museum founded in 1989 and located in Lansing, MI. It is the oldest museum in the Western Hemisphere dedicated solely to Surveying.[1] Exhibits at the museum include implements of the trade, both modern and historical focusing in particular on contributions that land surveyors have made to the settlement and development of the state of Michigan.
The Michigan Museum of Surveying occupies a former power plant building constructed in 1923 for the Rickard Lumber Mill. The neighboring Riverwalk Theatre and Impression 5 Science Center also occupy buildings of this former lumber mill.
