Michigan's 19th congressional district

Michigan's 19th congressional district is an obsolete United States congressional district in Michigan. Following the 1960 census, Michigan gained one additional seat in Congress due to reapportionment. However the state legislature did not create a new district in time for the 1962 elections. Thus, Neil Staebler was elected as an at-large candidate to represent Michigan in the 88th Congress. The first candidate elected from the newly created district was Billie S. Farnum in 1964.

The last Representative from the 19th district, William Broomfield, was subsequently elected from the 18th district after dissolution of the 19th district.

1. ^ In 1962, Neil Staebler was elected as an at-large candidate after the 1960 census indicated Michigan would gain a seat in the House of Representatives, but the districts had not been redrawn and District 19 had not been created at the time of the election.
