Michelle Clunie (born November 7, 1969) is an American actress and ballet dancer. Her career began in ballet, when she accepted a scholarship to the Academy of Professional Ballet. Clunie is known for portraying Melanie Marcus, a Jewish lesbian lawyer, in the critically acclaimed hit Showtime/Showcase Television TV series Queer as Folk.
Clunie plays on the World Poker Tour in the Hollywood Home games for the Destination Foundation charity. Although she is very private on her personal life, she revealed in an interview for Curve Magazine that, despite having played a lesbian character, she is actually straight in real life: "I don't want people to think I'm some symbol of the lesbian community, because I'm not a lesbian myself. I don't want people to think that I'm saying I know more than they do about their own lives."
