Michelia doltsopa is a tree native to Asia, specially in Himalayan area. It enjoys a sheltered position in full or part sun and appreciates well drained soil. The Doltsopa, closely related to the magnolia and known as Chinese Magnolia, can grow to a height of 12 metres tall. The tree flowers in spring and produces heavily scented white flowers. It has long green glossy leaves that provide a point of interest all year long. The Doltsopa can be used for a hedge or on its own as a feature tree.
