Michel Olçomendy

Michel Olçomendy M.E.P. is the first archbishop of the Singapore. He was born in St. Etienne-de-Baïgorry, France. He was ordained priest on the 29th May 1926 at the age of 24. Michel Olçomendy was a priest at La Société des Missions Etrangères

In 1947 , Michel Olçomendy was appointed bishop of Malacca , Singapore. On the 1st of January 1947, he was ordained bishop of Malacca , Singapore. Bishop Michel Olçomendy was appointed archbishop of Malacca , Singapore on the 9th September 1953 at the age of 52.

In 1976, he was the first archbishop of Singapore. He was archbishop for one year before he died in 1977. Archbishop Gregory Yong became the second archbishop of Singapore.
