Michal Daněk (born July 6, 1983) is a Czech footballer, currently playing for West Bromwich Albion on loan from FC Viktoria Plzeň. In the past he played most notably for FC Baník Ostrava, whom he has supported throughout his life.[1] He has been called up to play internationally for the Czech Republic.

Daněk claimed in August 2007 he was to meet Celtic for signing talks.[2]

In January 2008 he linked up with West Bromwich Albion for a few days' training on trial.[3] He then signed on loan for 6 months, with a view to a permanent deal.[4]

On 31 January 2008 Danek signed for Albion on loan for the rest of the season.[5] His loan was extended at the end of the season by 6 months until 1 January 2009[6]
