Michael Weyman (born 13 September 1984, Moruya, New South Wales) is an Australian professional rugby league player with the Canberra Raiders in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition.

[edit] Career

Weyman represented the Australian Schoolboys in 2001 and 2002, and captained the side in '02. He was selected in the Junior Kangaroos (Under 19s) in 2002 and 2003, and played for NSW U19s in 2003. One of his most memorable moments came in his second NRL game, against the Warriors in Wellington, where he set up Canberra’s match-winning try for Ruben Wiki. Weyman also received a surprise call-up for the 2003 semi-final against the Warriors, just his fourth NRL match.

His position of choice is in the front row, usually as an interchange player. Unfortuately wrist and ankle injuries have hampered his career to date. These injuries together with suspension meant Weyman only played 40 games in his first 4 years with Canberra.

He announced on May 8 that he will join St. George Illawarra for a 2-year contract between 2009 and 2010.[1]
