He graduated from University of California at Santa Cruz with a degree in Environmental Science in 1989 and moved to Crested Butte Colorado. [edit] Post-SCI

Prior to SCI's hiatus, Michael Travis became heavily involved in the more electronic based band Zilla, with Jamie Janover and Aaron Holstein. Additionally, Jason Hann and Michael Travis have also recently started a live looping project called EOTO. These two groups, who often tour at the same time, have become Travis' primary focus since SCI ceased to tour.
