Michael T. Benson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Michael T. Benson (born 1965) is an American educator who has served as president of Snow College and Southern Utah University.

Benson received his bachelors in Middle Eastern Studies from Brigham Young University. He latter received his Ph.D. at Oxford University. He served as president of Snow College starting in 2001 and then served as assistant to the President at the University of Utah before becoming president of Southern Utah University in 2006. Early in his term as president of Southern Utah University Benson secured the largest donation in the school's history.[1]

Benson is a grandson of Ezra Taft Benson.[2] Benson served an LDS mission in Italy, appropriate since his grandfather had rededicated that land for the preaching of the gospel.[3]
