Michael ("Mike") Sylvester was born on December 10, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He played college basketball at the University of Dayton. Mike was drafted with the 15th pick in the sixth round by the Detroit Pistons in the 1974 NBA Draft. He also won the silver medal with the Italy at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.
