Michael Devin Silversmith (born February 7, 1974 in Huntington Beach, Ca., United States) is an American songwriter, musician, and poet. Silversmith formed the Mod/Garage band Rave-UP in 1997, but Silversmiths diverse musical interests led him to quit in 1998.

In 1999 Silversmith traveled through Europe and returned to find himself auditioning for lead singer in the LA band "Denim", Silversmith decided it was best not to join a band and he went solo (Ben Ashley took the spot and later formed The Shore). Silversmith self released two albums between 2000 and 2002. In 2003 Silversmith joined up with High school friend C. Charles bowden of "Other Desert Cities", and the band "Silver Cities" was formed. Silver Cities was picked up by "Velvet Blue Music" owned by Jeff Cloud of Star Flier 59. Silver Cities released a self titled EP in 2005 followed by a full length in 2007 titled "power and strife". By this time Silver Cities had evolved from an Alternative country band into a Dance rock trio. Silversmith left the band in 2008 to pursue his solo career.
